Turkic Business Agro-Forum Held in Cholpon-Ata

On the margins of the 4th Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Turkic Business Agro-Forum was held on 26 June 2025 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic. The Forum was jointly organized by the OTS Secretariat, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI).

The event brought together senior officials, business leaders, investors, and agricultural entrepreneurs from the OTS Member States and Observers, offering a dynamic platform to foster business linkages, investment partnerships, and cross-border collaboration in agriculture and agro-industry.

The Forum was inaugurated with opening remarks by H.E. Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Kakhramon Yuldashev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Merey Mukazhan, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS and Adem Kula, Secretary General of the TCCI.

In his address, Mr. Mukazhan emphasized the Forum's significance in translating high-level commitments into tangible partnerships and
investments. He noted that “today’s Forum provides a crucial platform to bridge policy with practice, and to bring together the public and private sectors to explore concrete opportunities in agriculture, agro-business, and rural development.”

He also congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on the decision to declare Cholpon-Ata as the Agro Capital of the Organization of Turkic States for the 2025–2026 period, highlighting its symbolic importance for regional agricultural cooperation.

Participants discussed opportunities for collaboration in areas such as food processing, smart agriculture, seed systems, water efficiency, and agro-logistics. The newly operationalized Turkic Investment Fund was also highlighted as a promising mechanism to finance joint agricultural projects and support rural development across the Member States. The Forum underscored the essential role of the private sector as a key driver of innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth in the Turkic region, in line with the commitments outlined in the Joint Communiqué adopted at the 4th Ministerial Meeting the day before.
