On 26 June 2025 on the margins of the 1st Meeting of the Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which was held in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held a meeting with Mr. Uluqbek Kalenderov, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Mr. Kanat Asangulov, Chairman of the State Financial Intelligence Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting Mr. Kalenderov and Mr. Asangulov welcomed the Secretary General’s support to co-organizing the milestone 1st Meeting of the Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of OTS and underlined the significance of regional partnerships in ensuring financial security and stability. Additionally, they provided an overview of the Kyrgyz Republic’s ongoing reforms and efforts to align with international standards in the fight against financial crimes.
By thanking the Kyrgyz side for hosting the meeting and the hospitality provided, Ambassador Omuraliev highlighted the OTS’s commitment to supporting its Member States in strengthening institutional capacities and promoting best practices in financial oversight.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation within the OTS in the areas of financial intelligence, anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism. Both sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts and information sharing to address regional and global financial challenges.
