On 30 April 2025, the Drought Prevention Institute(DPI) of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) convened its Board meeting in Budapest to address critical issues for its functioning.

The meeting brought together DPI Board members, including Mr. Merey Mukazhan, Deputy Secretary General of OTS and Mr. Farid Mammadov, Project Manager of the OTS Secretariat, to discuss collaborative strategies for mitigating the impacts of drought, enhancing water conservation efforts, and promoting innovative technologies for sustainable agriculture.

Key topics on the agenda included the development of a unified drought response strategy, implementation of the ongoing projects and financing the future possible projects undertaken by DPI.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to fostering regional cooperation and leveraging collective expertise to ensure water security and resilience for future generations.
