The First-Ever Permanent Representative to the OTS Presented His Credentials to the Secretary General

On 16 July 2025, at the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Istanbul, H.E. Yerkebulan Sapiyev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented his letter of credentials to H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS.

During the ceremony, Secretary General Omuraliev underlined that H.E. Sapiyev holds the distinction of being the first-ever appointed Permanent Representative to the OTS—marking a significant milestone in the institutionalization of the Organization, in line with the provisions of the Nakhchivan Agreement.

The Secretary General and the Permanent Representative emphasized the importance of the institution of Permanent Representatives within the OTS, which will further contribute to strengthening coordination and enhancing cooperation among the Member States.

They also exchanged views on the current agenda of the Organization, discussed potential areas of collaboration, and reviewed preparations for the upcoming OTS Summits.
