On 21 October 2025, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), gave an exclusive interview to Euronews and met with Mr. Claus Strunz, CEO of Euronews, during his visit to Brussels. The discussions centered on the growing significance of the Turkic World in global affairs and the prospects for joint cooperation projects between the OTS and Euronews.
In his interview, Ambassador Omuraliev highlighted the role of the OTS as a strategic platform that unites the political, economic, and cultural potential of the Turkic States. He underscored the outcomes of the Gabala Summit, where the Heads of State reaffirmed their commitment to peace, stability, and regional cooperation under the theme “Regional Peace and Security.”
Emphasizing the Organization’s expanding engagement across more than forty sectors, the Secretary General drew particular attention to the Middle Corridor as a vital route connecting Asia and Europe. “The Turkic States are transforming geography into opportunity — turning the Middle Corridor into a central artery of Eurasian cooperation,” he stated.
During his meeting with Mr. Claus Strunz, Ambassador Omuraliev discussed avenues for media partnership and joint initiatives to promote greater awareness of the OTS’s activities and achievements. Both sides agreed to explore concrete forms of cooperation to highlight the Turkic World’s growing contribution to global connectivity, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue.
Concluding his visit to Euronews Headquarters in Brussels, Secretary General Omuraliev reaffirmed the Organization’s openness to partnerships and collaboration with international media, stating:
“Our Organization is steadily evolving into a global model of regional cooperation — one that links continents, connects economies, and promotes understanding among nations.”
