Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Mr. Merey Mukazhan participated in the 14th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), held in Astana on 11–12 June 2025, under the theme “TURKTIME” – The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy”.
In his speech, the Deputy Secretary General emphasized that the concept of “TURKTIME” was first introduced by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev which focuses on eight key pillars (Traditions, Unification, Reforms, Knowledge, Trust, Investment, Mediation, and Energy) reflecting the Turkic World’s ambition to shape its own destiny while remaining open, connected and relevant.
He highlighted the crucial role of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing the shared goals of the Turkic World Vision – 2040, promoting legislative harmonization, and fostering inclusive governance across the region. In the address, the Deputy Secretary General also underscored the role of TURKPA in facilitating dialogue, promoting democratic principles, and supporting people-centered diplomacy as a key pillar of the OTS cooperation framework.
The participation of the OTS in this important parliamentary gathering once again demonstrated the Organization’s dedication to fostering synergy between executive and legislative branches and advancing the unity, prosperity, and resilience of the Turkic World.
