On 14 September 2025, address by H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), was delivered by Mr. Farid Mammadov, Project Manager of OTS, to the participants of the 1st Assembly of the Turkic World Insurance Union, which was held in Shusha, Azerbaijan by the Azerbaijan Insurers Association.

The address highlighted the Union as a vital platform to advance collaboration in insurance and reinsurance, strengthen regulatory and technical cooperation, and modernize practices between Turkic States. The growing economic integration within the OTS was noted and participants were informed about the key mechanisms established under the Organization – such as meeting of the ministers in charge of economy and trade, Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), Turkic Investment Fund, Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA), Council of Central Banks and Turkic Green Finance Council, as well as cooperation among financial intelligence units, competition authorities of OTS Member States.

The event brought together leaders of insurance associationsand senior government officials from OTS Member States and Observers. Founding members and observers of the Union from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Turkmenistan, and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participated in panel discussions on market development and cross-border cooperation. The Assembly marked the signing of the Proclamation re-establishing the Turkic World Insurance Union, aligned with the goals and principles of the OTS.
