Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd Turkic Space Explorers Academy of the OTS held on 25 August 2025 at ESBAŞ Space Camp (Aegean Free Zone Development and Operating Company) in İzmir.
In his remarks, Secretary General Omuraliev highlighted the importance of the Academy, noting that it constitutes not only an educational initiative but also a strategic investment in the collective future of the Turkic world. He expressed his conviction that the Academy will foster valuable bonds among the young participants, support their future careers in science and space exploration, and prepare many of them to assume active roles in upcoming joint projects in the field of space.
The program, hosted by the Turkish Space Agency, is designed to enhance space awareness among the youth of the Turkic States, nurture future leaders in the field of space, and strengthen the spirit of solidarity and friendship among the participants.
This year, 40 students from OTS Member States are taking part in the Academy, receiving training in a wide range of disciplines, including observational astronomy, rocket and space sciences, astrophysics, and the solar system.
