 International Tourism Forum on Tourism Development of the OTS inaugurated in Jalal-Abad

The International Tourism Forum on Tourism Development of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was inaugurated on 15 September 2025 in Jalal-Abad, 2025 Tourism Capital of the Turkic World, with an opening address by H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS. The Forum was attended by the representative of the Member States and Observers as well as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyz Republic, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in Jalal-Abad Region and Mayor of Jalal-Abad City.

In his remarks, Secretary General emphasized the central role of tourism in the OTS cooperation agenda and highlighted flagship initiatives such as the Turkic Silk Road platform, Tabarruk Ziyarat project, Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, and the Turkic World Tourism Capital initiative. He stressed that these projects are strategic investments in unity, cultural diplomacy, and sustainable development.

Secretary General noted that over 1,500 tourism professionals have already been trained under OTS programs, which have been recognized by the United Nations as best practices for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He underlined that the Forum provides an invaluable platform to exchange best practices, strengthen cooperation, and build a globally competitive Turkic tourism brand.
